City Walk: A New Tourist Attraction in Dubai
Developer Meraas Holding introduced a
brand new outdoor lifestyle concept with its 13,000 sq. m. retail complex called City Walk in 2011. It has a lot to offer to tourists, visitors as well as residents in Dubai: top-of-the-line lifestyle outlets, street-side cafes, fine dining restaurants and shisha lounges and much more.
Surrounded by a large number of well established residential communities in the heart of Jumeirah, Citywalk is destined to become a popular and vibrant retail destination.
It has over 52 retail shops at the moment and will soon offer much more since it's completion in 2014. City Walk’s retail front stretches atleast 350 metres along the street in a tree-lined pathway like the European street-style. It has grown to offer innovative food & beverage concepts with the likes of: Rice Creamery, Yoku Moku, Ferre Chocolate Bar Concept, Cafe De Roma, Hummingbird Bakery, La Postretria, Jessica, Earth Fruits Yogurt, Hollywood Burger, Mo’s Restaurant, Pappa Roti, Brandi Pizzeria, Miskeh, Silver Fox, Paul, Just Falafel, Butcher’s Shop, Pei Wei, Starbucks, Subway, Sapori Di Bice, Nar, the Noodle House, Edo Sweets, Y by Yabani, Burger Joint.
Leading fashion brands too have made a mark in the area within City Walk such as: Zmilelee, Crea & JNBY, Sauce in the Hood, She Moves, Rivoli, Roberto Cavalli Décor, Designer’s Club, Michelle Belau, Al Jabr Optical, Mothercare, Toushih, Caboodle, Early Learning Centre.
There’s also a mix of beauty spa: Poupa Salon & Nail Spa, 1847, Sephora, N. Bar, fitness center: Physique 57, health center: Boots, Holland & Barrett and Spinney’s supermarket.
Already experiencing a high number of footfall, City Walk offers a sophisticated shopping and dining experience. When the project is totally complete and fully-leased, City Walk will provide over 1.3 km of promenade for public enjoyment. A full-range of retail, hospitality and entertainment facilities will also be provided.
City Walk experiences high footfall due to its central location around key areas in Dubai, walking distance from Dubai Mall / Burj Khalifa Metro Station and easy access to Sheikh Zayed Roa via Interchange 1. It features low-rise and mid-rise residential buildings of which the construction is well underway. Sources claim that a hotel and hotel-service apartments will also be included within the project. Handover is expected late 2016.
It’s signature attraction is the Lake around which people can relax and enjoy their meals with a pleasing view of the water with Burj Khalifa in the background. The best part is the pavilion style buildings, outdoor seating and paved areas that make the experience quite a classic. The public space will soon be host to markets, festivals, performances and concerts on a small and welcoming scale thanks to its 600 parking space.
Parallel to the popular City Walk retail promenade comes the residential side of City Walk which is currently under construction. It is located close to Jumeirah at the junction of Al Wasl Road and Safa Road. The new Box Park development is just around the corner from City Walk. Read here to know more about City Walk Residential Apartments.
